Human Design Projectors: A Look Into Projector Energy
No type in Human Design is more
diverse than the Projector Human Design type. Comprising of approximately 20% of the population, it
is likely that you or someone you love is a Projector. While the Projector type is often described as a non-energy type, there are exceptions to that rule, as you
will see below.
If you're not a Projector but are
looking for more information on Projectors in relationships, this blog will also be of
use to you. Human Design Projectors, like other non-Generator types, are more susceptible to
the sacral conditionings imposed upon them unintentionally.
Below I will cover the common
qualities of all three Projector types, followed by specifics on the different types
of Projectors, what makes Projectors unique, and how to understand
the different mechanisms behind the sub-types of Projectors.
What is a Projector?
Before we get started, what exactly
is a Projector? Projectors have no motors connected to the throat and no defined Sacral. They are officially here to guide. How they end up
guiding largely depends on the unique elements in the Projector's chart.
Projectors have a focused aura that
enables them to hone in on another person and penetrate through the aura to see
how best to guide them. Projectors aren't made for large crowds, as, unlike
Generator-types, they do not have an enveloping aura that can handle all that
takes place around them. With their focused aura, Projectors can easily become
over-whelmed when exposed to too much stimuli. Their specialty is in one-on-one
conversations.
It has been said that the world is transitioning from a place of monarchy to a place of democracy, with the Projector-(M)Generator relationship serving as the new form of societal mechanisms. Whereas in the past Manifestors led and Projectors did not exist, various Human Design sources state we are entering an era where Projectors are here to guide the Generators and Manifesting Generators.
For this reason, it is especially
important that the Projector de-conditions from the old system and steps into
their place as guides to the future. Below, I will share information on the
mechanisms of Projectors in the hopes that this helps bring about this
separation from the old and immersion of the new.
Outer Authority- Waiting for the Invitation
In Human Design, outer authority is the way in which
we sense what’s right for us in relation to others. All Projectors operate in a
similar way when it comes to outer authority. This authority is called waiting
for the invitation. Projectors must be invited to offer their gifts to the other. Think of
it this way, a Projector has a special skill that allows them to pierce the aura
of another person. If not permitted, this may feel very invasive towards the
other. By waiting for someone to give them permission to analyze and guide
them, the Projector is listening to the unanimous harmony that comes with the
unique ways in which they pair with others.
It can feel like quite the Projector dilemma to be dependent upon an invitation, especially when you have so much to offer to the world. Indeed, you might feel bitter and frustrated by the lack of invitation that can sometimes leave you feeling ignored or unacknowledged. Avoid the temptation to push invitations disharmoniously into your world, as this will backfire in the long run. By trusting in the right timing and underlying synchronicity of the mechanics of your design, you can instead relax into the invitations that are right for you.
To find that invitation, we must move from the outer authority to the inner authority. Not all invitations are meant to be accepted. Only you can know what feels right to accept and what feels forced and unnatural. You must seek within yourself whether this opportunity is right for you before accepting the proposition. As you will see below, there are a few inner authorities Projectors can have. I cover each type of Projector authority in the sections briefly, but plan on writing more in
depth blog posts on each of the types. For now, let’s discover the 3 different types of Projectors.
The Three Sub-Types of Projectors
There are three subsets of
Projectors that function in very different ways. These consist of Non-energy
Projectors, who have no motors defined, Energy Projectors, who have a defined
motor that gives them consistent energy, and No Inner Authority Projectors,
who, similarly to Reflectors, must wait a full moon cycle before making
important life choices. Below we will look at the ways in which each of these
Projector subtypes operates.
Subtype 1: Non-energy Projectors
The classic Projector is a non-energy
type. This means that they do not have a defined motor and primarily get their
energy through interactions with energy types, such as Generators and
(sometimes Manifestors). As such, the non-energy Projector needs lots of rest
to recuperate from the intense energies of those they are teaming up with and
focusing on with their penetrating aura.
Inner Authorities for Non-energy Projectors
There are several inner
decision-making mechanics that a non-energy Projector can have. Let's look at
these different inner authorities in detail:
1. Splenic
Authority for Projectors with Non-Energy
A non-energy Projector with Splenic
authority does not have a motor like the Ego or Root center connected to it.
The Spleen is defined through its connection with the G Center and/or Throat
Center.
In addition to the Spleen being
defined via one of these pathways, other centers that aren't motors, such as
the Head and Ajna Centers, can be defined, as they don't possess the fuel of
motor centers.
Example of a non-energy, Splenic
Projector
Above, we have an example of a classic
Splenic Projector. These Projectors make inner decisions through Splenic
authority. Because they lack a motor to fuel their energy, these Projectors
will need lots of rest from the energy they exert into their focus on guiding
Generators. It is important to identify which invitations are right, and to not
over-load one’s plate with the numerous opportunities that present themselves,
as the energy is limited and therefore a precious gift not made to be harnessed
or bartered with.
2. Self-Projected Authority
Non-energy Projectors with a Self-Projected authority have the G Center and the Throat Center defined in their charts. It is through their identity that they find their truths and inner authority. Someone with this authority can also have the Head and/or Ajna defined.
Example
of a Non-Energy, Self-projected Projector
A Self-projected Projector needs to
vocalize and express their experiences in order to understand themselves. They
often use their interactions with others as soundboards for inspiration, which
can be very moving for those experiencing and amplifying these energetic
exchanges. By conversing with others, this subtype of Projector is able to
figure out their inner decisions through creative verbalization of their
self-expression when they are alone to reflect upon their experiences.
Thus…
If you're a non-energy Projector,
you will need space to recover from the energetic highs around you. You will
also need to listen to your inner authority to prevent yourself from jumping
into invitations that aren't right for you. If you jump into an invitation
solely because you want recognition, regardless of how your authority makes you
feel about that invitation, you will be met with bitterness.
Sub-type 2: Energy Projectors
An energy Projector in Human Design has the ability
to feel constant energy within themselves, through a defined motor. There are 4
motors in Human Design: the Ego, the Solar Plexus, the Sacral, and the Root.
While the Sacral is not defined for a Projector, the other 3 motors can be
defined. Depending on which of these motors is defined, it will take precedence over other potential authorities. I plan on covering the hierarchy of the different centers in determining one's authority in a later blog. For now, let's take a look at the 3 authorities that correlate with energy
Projectors.
1. Solar Plexus Authority
Commonly referred to as the emotional center, the Solar
Plexus motor is what drives emotions. A Projector with the Solar Plexus defined
has constant emotional energy, depending on the gate(s) defined. This motor enables
the Projector to have emotional highs and lows that they use to navigate their
inner truths.
Below is an example of a Projector, with emotional authority: Queen Elizabeth ii.

2. Ego-Projected Authority
Also known as the will or heart center, the Ego center is the motor that drives the willpower to do. Those with this motor defined have an innate ability to get things moving and motivate others, as it is a very tribal center.

3. Splenic Authority
Also mentioned previously under the non-energy Projector
section, a Projector with the Spleen defined can be a non-energy Projector. However, if one's Spleen is connected to a motor such as the Ego or Root Center, a Projector with Splenic Authority can be fueled with consistent
energy.
Jackie Chan's Human Design Chart
The Root Center is the motor that drives stability and resources. Therefore, a Projector like Jackie Chan, will make decisions based on the relationship between the Root motor center and the Spleen. He will also be supplied with constant energy from the circuitry of the motor to Spleen.
Sub-type 3: No Inner Authority Projectors
Projectors with no inner authority, also known as Mental Projectors, do not have a motor or authoritative center to guide them. The head and Ajna are considered fuel for not-self decisions due to their biases towards making decisions separately from the body. Because of this, anyone with only the throat, head, or Ajna defined must acquire a feel for their bodies through time alone, in spaces where other auras do not interfere with the delicate decision-making process at play.
Abraham Lincoln's Human Design
They must also wait a full moon cycle to make decisions, like Reflectors. Unlike Reflectors, however, Mental Projectors identify with their authorities through vocalizing their thoughts with their environments and then sitting on that information before making decisions.
They must wait a full moon cycle because of the influence of others on their decisions and also because of the influences of the natural ebb and flow of planetary transits. The gates in Human Design change on a regular basis, and this change affects us all in sometimes subtle, but also sometimes profound ways. For someone with a clear authority, this won't affect our ability to make decisions, but for someone no inner authority, this can inspire them to make decisions they otherwise would not make.
Not-self
of Bitterness
Now that we have covered the elaborate diversity of Human Design type Projectors, let's conclude with a similarity: not-self. Projectors who do not follow
their two-step strategy will experience bitterness when things don't go according to
plan. Not waiting for the invitation, allowing the mind to make decisions, or
allowing external energies to influence one's decisions are all ways in which the
Projector might end up experiencing Projector not-self.
Signature of Success
All Projectors, if living their
design appropriately, will experience the signature of success. Success
comes in many different forms, but it always starts with following one's outer and then checking with the inner strategy before choosing to do what you do best: guide.
