Conscious, Unconscious, and the Collective Human Design Types
Wow, has it been a while! What with an 8 week old son and a fiance that just moved from one country to another, this manifestor has been exhausted. Fortunately, I've been busy storing my ideas and observations for when I have an opportunity to do some more blogging. Today is one of those days.
My latest hypothesis is something I think those who are well into Human Design might find to be of interest. I call this one the "(insert type) consciousness/unconsciousness." This theory suggests that, depending on what we have consciously, unconsciously, and combined, we exhibit the signatures and successes of those types. For example, let's take a look at a few body graphs of mine:
This chart is my father's. He has, as I like to call it "reflector consciousness" and "reflector unconsciousness," but a complete or combined chart of a projector. This is due to his half conscious and half unconscious 58|18 channel of judgement. I feel his disappointment frequently. He is easily disappointed, and he is often surprised when things go well. I then feel his bitterness as the disappointment kicks in when he realizes something didn't go along with his expectations. To me, the reflector's biggest mistake is setting expectations of any kind for this very reason. As someone with a "reflector unconsciousness," I can understand the subtleties of how expectations lead to surprise or disappointment.
This chart is possibly my mother's. (I can't find her birth time.) Her chart is very full. The more definition is in a chart, the less-likely one is to be a reflector un/consciousness because of the probability of possessing one of the many generator or projector channels. My mother has a conscious chart of a manifesting generator, due to her conscious 34|10 channel of exploration. Unconsciously she has a generator consciousness, due to her 46|29 channel of discovery and 53|42 channel of transformation. Combined, she has the chart of a manifesting generator.
It would appear that those with consistent conscious, unconscious, and combined charts exhibit their collective charts' signatures and not-selves more easily. This is because there is little to no conflicting channels at play. While someone who has generator, manifestor, and projector channels may struggle to distinguish between when to initiate, when to respond, and when to wait for the invitation, this is an interaction with others, whereas, my theory involves one's interaction with their own energies, which may or may not be separate from the outside world. It is how we respond to stimuli through our designs rather than how we communicate through our designs. To exemplify, I may respond internally to my experiences very differently than I outwardly communicate those experiences. Outwardly I am to function as a manifestor. It is my Human Design, after all. Inwardly, however, I am met with the conflicting natures of my conscious, unconscious, and collective design. It's about our feelings, the way we view ourselves.
Therefore, if you've been struggling to truly identify with elements of your design, this may be the culprit. It is possible you are dealing with feelings that aren't entirely that of your manifestor or generator or projector or reflector design. You could be a generator who struggles with feelings of bitterness and feeling like you have to wait for an invitation because consciously, you feel like a projector. Or you could be a splenic projector who feels like you can't respond to invitations when they arise because consciously you're a reflector. You could be a manifestor who doesn't know how to initiate and feels uncertain because consciously you, too, are a reflector.
As you can see, there are many factors that might be at play that can influence how we feel about ourselves and our Human Designs. I invite everyone to take a look at their charts with this in mind, as a way of possibly explaining some of the uncertainties one might be feeling in regards to their personal type, signature, and not-self.
Please leave a comment if you feel this resonates with you. As a 1/3 profile I love to investigate and either prove my hypotheses wrong or further strengthen my foundation by finding supportive evidence. Simply leave your chart information and how you feel about your chart and I'll take a peek and get back to you.
This first chart is mine. The idea here is that, depending on what is in our personality, design, and the combination of the two determines how we experience the various signatures and successes of Human Design. I have two channels: 35|36 and 19|49. Channel 35|36 is both red and black. This is a pure manifesting channel: the channel of transitoriness or jack of all trades. My theory suggests that the signature and not-self of Manifestor are only exhibited through manifesting channels. Therefore, because half of this channel is red (unconscious design) and half of it is black (conscious personality), I am a hybrid of a sort. I will not automatically feel the not-self of anger, nor will I be quick to feeling my signature of peace. This is because it is not fully conscious. It takes more for my body and mind to identify and connect with these important elements of my design.
Not only that, but consciously I have the completed channel of 19|49, the channel of marriage: a very tribal projected channel. Since it is conscious, I have little to no problem identifying with it. In fact, I was very skeptical of the Human Design experiment because I couldn't identify with my manifestor self. I felt more like a projector or a reflector, as you will shortly see why. It is because, consciously, I am a projector. Now, unconsciously I am not a projector or a manifestor. This is because, according to Ra, the soul enters the body 88 degrees before the conscious sun's position, or approximately three months before birth. On this day, my soul supposedly entered my fetal body, and on that day the chart was that of a reflector, which is quite common when looking at a single day's chart. There are no completely red channels in my chart. For this reason, I am an unconscious reflector.
To summarize:
a) consciously, I have the chart of a projector, which I have coined "projector consciousness." I am more inclined to initially feel the projector theme of success and its not self of bitterness.
b) unconsciously, I have the chart of a reflector, which I have coined "reflector unconsciousness." I am more inclined to feel the reflector theme of surprise and its not self of disappointment secondly.
c) and combined, I have the chart of a manifestor, which I have not currently thought of a term for. Perhaps, "manifestor in totality," although that doesn't feel quite right. Only through the merging of my two charts can I complete the whole of my entirety, which is perhaps why my anger is so surprising and confusing, and my peace a pleasant reward that feels outside of my own doing.
